Applicants can NOT apply for this competition but must be elected by their teacher. Teachers in the area are the only ones who can apply for their students. Auditions are in the Vocal, Piano, String and Wind categories. The Scholarships include the Lynne Harvey Scholarship of $7,500, Edith Newfield Scholarship of $4,000, Annemarie Gerts Award of $1,500 and two Farwell Awards of $1,000 each in Women’s Voice. It also awards five Farwell Awards of $1,500 each to Women Instrumentalists. Each winner will receive a free three year membership in the club which presents a monthly series in Preston Bradley Hall, Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. The China (Ningbo) International Vocal Competition (CIVC) is one of the China International Music Competition events that are organized by the Ministry of Culture of the PRC and held every three years, including the competitions for singers, pianists and violinists. The semi-finalists will be heard on the Lehmann Foundation Website <lottelehmann.org> and everyone who listens can make comments and vote for their favorites. A panel of experts will judge the winners, but the web voters first choice will win a special prize, in addition to the judges' awards. And there are money prizes; at this time: $1,000 for the Best Overall Performance; $750: Best French Song Performance; $750: Best German Song Performance; $500 for the Best Vocal/Piano Duo, $500: Audience Favorite.
